Snapshots: Hong Kong

By Marte · January 3, 2013

Lately we’ve been walking the streets of one of our favourite cities; Hong Kong. Although parts of the city is draped in luxurious Bape, Dior and Chanel shops, Hong Kong sparks memories of old Hollywood movies where polished taxis disappear off in the night under heavy rain, illuminated by the neon sky. And it’s these two worlds–the traditional and the contemporary, trendy and quirky– that turns Hong Kong into a huge source of inspiration. Go shopping, go for a hike in the New Territories or on one of the Islands, relax on sandy beaches, or head over to Kowloon for a bit of localness, markets and one of many neighborhoods bursting with creativity. Take a step off the beaten path and you’ll find a city filled with galleries, exhibitions, workshops and studios. Hong Kong is on the up, and not only as a financial centre.
