Kanazawa: Golden Swamp

By Max · May 15, 2012

Nothing like gold sprinkled on top of your ice cream
Couple of weeks back we traveled to Kanazawa, a small city on the Japanese West coast. As most business and pleasure in JPN takes place along the East coast due to accessibility through the bullet train, Kanazawa is more or less a forgotten little treasure. One of the few cities that wasn’t bombed during WW2, Kanazawa is a mix of narrow streets, samurai houses, amazing old Japanese style castles, gardens, some of Japan’s best food, and a vibrant, young creative scene that’s on the up. We’re doing a big piece on Kanazawa in one of our upcoming issues, so for now enjoy these snapshots.
